things you need to be carefull with the tracker and sidekick
There is a couple of things that you need to watch on the 93 tracker. The fuel injection modual which the computer runs, will die at around 250000km to 300000km. On the 91 to 97 the driveshaft male shaft is very weak. It is about the width of your index finger, you might wanna beef it up if you increase the power, but you should have no problem as long as, if you catch any air at all get, off the throttle and clutch in, or you could risk snapping your driveshaft. Also from 91 to 97 the clutch is kinda weak. If you are looking to buy one, make sure you get it in a 5 speed standerd 4x4 and manuael, locking hubs because sometimes the auto locking hubs dont lock all the time. If you are looking to do some serious mudding and river running I would silicone or somehow waterproof the distributor cap, if it gets wet it will bog the engine and you will have to sit in a mud hole waiting for it to dry out.
transmission
From 1991 to 1998 suzuki put a balanced transmission in the suzuki sidekick. Since that suzuki and chevrolet were making these vechicles together. The tracker has the same transmission. Chevrolet made the frame and body and suzuki made the whole powertrain. The balanced transmission, with my tracker I can shift without using the clutch. I can do it with any standard vechicle but the tracker is surpisingly easy, so i looked into it and found out it was equiped with a balanced transmission. A balanced transmission is similar to a dump truck. the gear ratios are well thought out and positioned just right so you can not use the clutch and it wont grind or be hard to slip in to the next gear. I do this between 2 and 3 rpm. Transmissions in the tracker and sidekick are pretty well bullet proof but the clutch is kind of weak.

the ups and downs of a tracker or sidekick
Trackers and sidekicks are great on fuel because of the 1.6 inline 4 cylinder engine. When a tracker or sidekick is equiped with 4x4, look out you will find one of the best vehicles ever made for offroading. The reason why they are so good is because of the short wheelbase and the perfect center of gravaty, you also have to remember that is super light so it just kind skips across the mud. The down fall to them though is that they are kind of top heavy and they have around 80 hp but the 80hp doesnt matter when you have super low gears which kicks on in 4wd low. When coming into tight trails which happens a lot the tracker or sidekick does very well.
